Airlift, hotels set to drive growth in 2026 according to the BTA

Tourism chiefs are expecting a boost in air arrivals next year.
They could increase by 11-14%, and raise visitor spending by up to 59 million dollars.
This according to the Bermuda Tourism Authority, which hosted an international partnership summit today.
The predicted uptick is linked to new hotel developments, including the Grotto Bay expansion and the reopening of Fairmont Southampton by the middle of next year.
Acting Chair William “Billy” Griffith highlighted the BTA’s expanded role as the lead agency for Bermuda’s airline service strategy , emphasizing the importance of airlift in tandem with more hotel rooms coming online.
His remarks were made as the BTA staged its 2025 International Bermuda Partnership Summit at the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club.
One key takeaway from the summit was a renewed focus on the winter season.
Acting CEO Erin Wright announced a new collaborative marketing campaign aimed at attracting off-season visitors.
Meanwhile, Mr Griffith told media that following internal challenges that prompted a culture review, the organisation has emerged “stronger” and “more focused”, with a reset aimed at sustainable growth.
He revealed that the BTA is nearing the final stages of hiring a new CEO, with a recommendation to the board expected within three weeks.
We’ll have more from the tourism Summit in subsequent newscasts.
