The Bermuda Airport Authority said the aircraft landed safely at the L.F. Wade International Airport at 4.51pm Friday

An Air France flight diverted to the island today after the pilot suspected a ‘suspicious’ odour in the cabin, according to the Bermuda Airport Authority.
The Causeway and Kindley Field Road was temporarily closed to traffic while several local emergency vehicles from the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service and Bermuda Police Service responded to the notice of an emergency diversion.
The airbus landed safely at L. F. Wade International Airport at 4.51pm on Friday.
No injuries were reported.
CEO of Bermuda Airport Authority, Lester Nelson confirmed, “Air Traffic Services reported that Air France flight 178 from Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG) to Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez (Benito Juárez International Airport), Mexico City International Airport (MEX), diverted to Bermuda.”
He said, “The diversion was due to the pilot’s report of a suspicious odor in the cabin, believed to be electrical, and the aircraft landed safely at the L.F. Wade International Airport, with the airport’s airport fire department on standby.”
Emergency vehicle attended the aircraft which was stationed at the southern perimeter of the airport’s runway while checks were carreid out.
The plane was then cleared to enter the airport’s terminal where they deplaned passengers.
According to the BAA, Air France is coordinating with its airline partners in Bermuda to transport its passengers to their destination.
