Bermuda’s Aeziah Divine experienced the full spectrum of motorcycling’s highs and lows as the 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship roared into life at Oulton Park this weekend.
Representing Fibre Tec Honda-By MLav Racing, Divine’s season began with a display of blistering pace that was cruelly interrupted by mechanical misfortune. After an explosive start in Race 1, carving through the field to 12th, his bike succumbed to a technical failure on the eighth lap while he was locked in a fierce battle for position.
“It was a frustrating end after such a strong start,” Divine admitted. “I had a great climb, so to take a DNF in the first race of the season is unfortunate, but it was no fault of the team.”
However, his raw speed was rewarded. Having clocked a new Personal Best in the 1:48s during the opening heat, Divine secured a prestigious 10th-place slot on the grid for Race 2. He capitalised on the opportunity with a resilient 12-lap performance, powering his Honda to a 10th-place finish in 21:54.722.
While he finished 31 seconds behind race winner Ryan Frost, the result marks a vital points-scoring finish in a world-class field. With his pace now firmly established, Divine heads to the next round with clear evidence he has the speed to challenge the championship’s elite.
