OBA’s Robert King seeks to clarify his comments about crime risk at affordable housing sites; Housing Minister Zane DeSilva calls his questions offensive

They haven’t been built yet, but Bermuda’s newest affordable homes have already caused a political bust-up.
The OBA’s Robert King garnered a heated response from Housing Minister Zane DeSilva, when he raised questions about crime prevention and community safety measures.
The Shadow Minister of Justice said that people in need of affordable housing are at greater socioeconomic risk of having crime in their community, and this should be taken into account in the construction of such homes.
Minister DeSilva said his comments were offensive, while adding those in need of affordable housing are not necessarily low-income (WATCH below)…
