Paget Primary hosts 7th annual Black History Museum

Highlights Bermudian pioneers in art, education, activism and politics

Members of the public strolling the halls of Paget Primary’s campus this week for the school’s 7th annual Black History Museum.

The school hopes that the event will both educate and inspire students, parents, and Bermuda residents—informing them of the contributions Black Bermudians have made to the country.

The late Dame Marjorie Bean, a founding member of the Bermuda Public Services Union (BPSU), was honoured alongside political activist and author Mrs. Florenz Webbe Maxwell. The latter was on-site to read an excerpt from her latest novel, ‘Girlcott’, to students.

You can watch Bermuda Broadcasting’s interview with Mrs. Maxwell and Paget Primary Principal Sonia Raynor via Vimeo, above.
