Jennifer L. Phillips was recently awarded a King’s Certificate and Badge of Honour

A passion for the arts runs through Jennifer L. Phillips’ veins. The former dancer says that her upbringing, surrounded by a family that championed creativity, instilled a love for the industry that she would ultimately dedicate her life to.
“Both of my parents are avid art lovers—the performing arts, the visual arts. I have an aunt, my mother’s sister, who’s still a practicing painter in Canada. I grew up with parents who, at the time, dragged me to all of the art museums, the theatres, the dance productions. So I grew up kind of steeped in art and culture.”
Ms. Phillips, currently serving as the Executive Director of the Bermuda National Gallery, was recently awarded a King’s Certificate and Badge of Honour as part of King Charles’ 2025 New Year’s Honours List. She says that the news came as a welcomed surprise.
