New Zealander Cameron Jones (Scott-Shimano) conquered the punishing Unbound Gravel 200 in Kansas, breaking away in the final miles after over eight hours in the saddle. Jones crossed the line in 8 hours, 37 minutes, and 9 seconds, leaving Simon Pellaud (Tudor Pro Cycling) 42 seconds behind in second place.
Bermuda’s Olympian Tyler Butterfield also took on this immense challenge, completing the 202.5-mile course in a commendable time of 10 hours and 23 minutes. Butterfield finished 92nd overall and 63rd in the Men’s Elite Pro Division. Remarkably, this feat comes just a week after he competed in the Sinclair Packwood Memorial Race in Bermuda. His average pace of 19.5 miles per hour over such a distance highlights his impressive resilience and endurance.
