Trinidad dominate Bermuda, 3 goals to nil

Bermuda’s ambitious journey in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers received another crushing blow, as the ‘Gombey Warriors’ fell 3-0 to rivals Trinidad and Tobago in a crucial Group B fixture at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium tonight.
Coach Michael Findlay had labelled the match “do or die,” and the heavy defeat leaves Bermuda mathematically unable to secure a direct qualifying place or a playoff spot, with zero points from three matches in the final round of Concacaf qualification.
The home side was unable to contain the Trinidadian attack in the first half, allowing the visitors to finally find their scoring form in this qualifying campaign.
10th Minute (0-1): Dante Sealy put the Soca Warriors ahead, giving them their first goal of the round.
30th Minute (0-2): Tyrese Spicer doubled the advantage, sending Trinidad into the break with a commanding two-goal lead that left the home side with a desperate fight ahead.
Hopes for a famous Bermudian comeback—reminiscent of their effort against Curaçao—were quickly dashed just after the restart.
49th Minute (0-3): Defender Kobi Joseph Henry delivered the final, knockout blow for the visitors, scoring the third goal only four minutes into the second half. The goal immediately restored Trinidad’s cushion and deflated the home side.
The 3-0 loss confirms Bermuda are one defeat away from being eliminated from contention in Group B. With three matches remaining, the team will now need maximum points from their three upcoming fixtures starting with the match against Jamaica.
