A spectacular research vessel has been turning heads in the east end.
The Neil Armstrong arrived in Bermuda on January the 13th and has been in and out of Penno’s Wharf.
The vessel is standing in for the Atlantic Explorer, which is owned and operated by the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, and is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance at a shipyard in Jacksonville, Florida.
The 238-foot Neil Armstrong, named after the first person to walk on the moon, was launched in 2014.
It is owned by the U.S. Navy and operated by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
The Atlantic Explorer is due to return to Bermuda at the end of February.
