Bermuda Broadcasting looks back over the day’s events as His Majesty King Charles III makes his first Royal Visit to Bermuda

Sunny skies and cheering crowds greeted a joyful monarch today, as Bermuda rolled out the red carpet for His Majesty King Charles the third.
Judging by the enthusiasm of spectators alone, the first full day of The King’s visit appears to have been a resounding success.
Events got underway this morning with Pomp and Ceremony on aptly-named King’s Square in St George’s.

City Hall was awash with colour and music this afternoon King Charles explored one of the hubs of Bermuda’s art and culture.

Over in the west end of the island, the excitement didn’t let up as crowds continued to gather.
In Dockyard, King Charles took part in a series of cultural engagements, meeting Bermuda’s athletes and young people.

King Charles has always been a keen environmentalist so a visit to the Bermuda Aquarium and Zoo today was a natural fit.
The King took a short boat ride across Harrington Sound to Trunk island, an ecological treasure trove and living classroom.
King Charles was accompanied on his visit by Environment Minister Jache Adams and Dr Ian Walker, Principal Curator at the aquarium.
