Silencing the Pickleball ‘Pop’

The Pickleball Association of Bermuda addresses pickleball’s noise pollution problem

As pickleball’s popularity rises internationally, so too have complaints about the sport’s distinctive sound—prompting some communities abroad to restrict or even relocate courts. But here in Bermuda, the Pickleball Association says the island has avoided those conflicts by being strategic about where courts are placed. President George Thomas explains why the issue has been far less disruptive locally.

Mr Thomas says there are practical solutions available. And like they have done here at Mizzentop, he would like to see communities exhaust those options before considering any move to restrict or ban the sport in certain areas.
