Aquarium to shut Tuesday afternoon, February 17 and Wednesday, February 18 for North Rock Tank repairs
The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo (BAMZ) will be temporarily closed to the public from 1 pm on Tuesday, February 17 (last entry at 12pm) and on Wednesday, February 18.
The facility is scheduled to re-open on Thursday, February 19, at 9:00 a.m. However, please check official communications regarding opening times, in case of delays outside of our control.
The temporary closure is essential to ensuring the long-term structural integrity, water tightness, and safety of one of BAMZ’s most iconic exhibits.
This phase of the project has had a slight delay this month as the island has been experiencing challenging weather conditions, including high winds.
The crane operations require heavy lifting to take place directly over public spaces, making a full facility closure necessary for the safety of visitors, staff, volunteers and our animals.
As with all crane operations, the schedule is highly dependent on weather conditions, particularly wind speeds, and the dates may need to shift accordingly.
BAMZ thanks the public in advance for their patience and understanding should any further adjustments be required.
