Bermuda today observed World AIDS Day, which is officially December the 1st.
The Ministry of Health hosted a tree-planting ceremony in the Botanical Gardens.
The 2024 theme for World Aids Day is, “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right!”
In a press release, the government said this theme highlights “the importance of fair access to healthcare as a fundamental human right, while also emphasizing the ongoing global and local efforts to address the challenges posed by HIV/AIDS”.
World Aids Day emphasizes a rights-based approach to health, highlighting the importance of equitable access and individual empowerment.
