Bermuda is on the cusp of revitalizing a long-vacated tourism site and providing jobs in demolition, construction and operations.
This from Owen Darrell, Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, who today updated the House of Assembly about plans by The Loren to expand its footprint at the former Elbow Beach Hotel.
He said a proposed Tourism Investment Bill would provide relief for The Loren, which would effectively be operating one hotel in two different locations – a new concept for Bermuda.
Mr. Darrell also said Government has engaged in a promotion of the incentives available to attractions, restaurants and local operators in the tourism economy: “The result is a growing interest from local entrepreneurs who seek to avail themselves of the benefits of various forms of relief that often are assumed only to apply to large developers.”
