Goals in the 10th and 30th minutes put Trinidad in the drivers seat

Bermuda are staring down the barrel in their must-win World Cup Qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago, trailing 2-0 at half-time at the National Sports Center.
The match, which coach Michael Findlay had labelled “do or die” for Bermuda’s 2026 hopes, saw the visitors take a commanding lead into the interval, effectively silencing the partisan home crowd.
Trinidad and Tobago, who entered the match having failed to get a point in their opening two qualifiers, found their rhythm early, capitalizing on defensive vulnerabilities in the Bermudian backline:
- 10th Minute (0-1): Trinidad and Tobago’s MLS-based attacker Dante Sealy broke the deadlock. The forward, who plies his trade with CF Montreal, found space inside the box and finished clinically to put the Soca Warriors ahead.
- 30th Minute (0-2): The visitors doubled their advantage when fellow MLS talent Tyrese Spicer (Orlando City) added the second goal. The strike came at the half-hour mark, leaving Bermuda with a mountain to climb.
Despite the deficit, Bermuda captain Nahki Wells attempted to spark the attack, but Bermuda have struggled to convert possession into clear-cut chances against a resolute Trinidadian defence.
