Community, businesses and Government unite as BermudAir donates aircraft; collections run Nov. 2–3
Bermuda is mobilising a nationwide relief effort to support Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa, with BermudAir—led by CEO and Founder Adam Scott—volunteering an aircraft to deliver critical supplies. The Bermuda–Jamaica Hurricane Melissa Relief Airlift is coordinated by the Jamaican Association of Bermuda (JAB) alongside faith groups, corporate partners, international business leaders and community volunteers, with full backing from the Government of Bermuda.
“The heart of Bermuda has always been its people,” said coordinator Dwayne Caines, JP. “BermudAir’s leadership has ignited a movement rooted in compassion and service… we must rally together.”
JAB President Yackeisha Weir called it “a call to action” for churches, companies and residents to give, organise and stand with Jamaica. The Ministry of Health will donate medical and emergency response supplies (non-medication items).
The relief flight is tentatively set to depart early next week, with distribution handled by partner organisations in Jamaica.
