Medal rush for Bermuda martial artists at Pan American Championships

Bermuda’s martial artists have concluded a stellar campaign in Argentina, amassing a rich haul of medals across the Pan American Kung Fu and Wushu Championships.

The island’s contingent delivered across both full-contact combat and traditional routines in Buenos Aires, holding their own against elite talent from across the Americas.

Bermuda set the tone in the full-contact San Da ring, claiming three golds and a silver.

Experienced international Krista Dyer underlined her dominance by capturing the Women’s 75kg title. Rising prospect Tristan Robinson took gold in the Male 65kg division, while young Yara Robinson triumphed in the 9–11 Years 26kg category. Junior fighter Jacob Goodwin added silver in the 15–17 Male 48kg event, with Michael Tristan Burgess placing fifth at 65kg.

The traditional forms events brought further success, headlined by multiple podium finishes for Kaelin Cox and veteran Garon Wilkinson.

Cox struck gold in the Group D (18–39) Other Southern Style Form and earned silver in the Spear, before teaming up with Wilkinson to secure gold in the Two-Person Fighting Set.

Wilkinson claimed an individual silver in the Group E (40–59) Flexible Weapon, while Jashae Allen-LaMontagne took Group D gold in the Other Northern Style Form. Jecoa Burrows and Talia Fox added bronze medals in Group E Other Northern Style and Taiji Open Hand respectively.

In Modern Wushu Taolu, Bermuda posted solid results in dense fields, with Geraldine Sidders earning a best finish of sixth in Group A Jianshu, and dual-threat Tristan Robinson finishing fifth across three separate disciplines.
