
Members of the Bermuda Sanshou Association have delivered a strong performance at the 2025 International Martial Arts Festival & National Championships in Canada.
Kaelin Cox was a standout, securing first place in all three of his open taolu divisions: nanquan, nandao, and nangun. This success serves as a major boost for Cox ahead of his training trip to Peru and preparation for the World Wushu Championships in Brazil.
Jashae Allen-LaMontagne also had a successful championships, winning gold in both Open Barehand and Traditional long weapons, in addition to two bronze medals.
Ryah Symonds showcased her fighting spirit, bouncing back from a first-bout loss to win her second match decisively. Unfortunately, Cole Durham’s tournament was cut short by a shoulder injury in his first round.
The results highlight the growing talent within the Bermuda Sanshou Association, with these performances providing a positive outlook for the future of the sport on the island.
