Bermudian swimming sensation Elijah Daley continued his scintillating run of form this weekend, representing the University of Toronto at the high-profile 2026 Toronto Grand Prix.
Competing at the renowned Toronto Swim Club, Daley faced off against an elite international field in the long-course event, further cementing his reputation as one of the most versatile and resilient swimmers currently in the collegiate circuit.
The undisputed highlight of the meet for Daley came in the Men’s 200 LC Meter Butterfly. In a grueling test of aerobic capacity and technical precision, the University of Toronto standout executed a perfectly timed race. After sitting with the pack for the opening 150 meters, Daley surged through the final length to claim a third-place finish.
He touched the wall in 2:05.61, securing a well-deserved bronze medal and banking vital points for the Varsity Blues.
Daley’s busy schedule also saw him test his speed in the shorter sprint distances. In the Men’s 100 LC Meter Butterfly, he secured a seventh-place finish in a stacked final, clocking a competitive 56.51.
Proving his prowess across multiple disciplines, he then shifted his focus to the Men’s 100 LC Meter Breaststroke. Displaying remarkable power in the underwater phases, Daley produced a strong performance to finish fifth, stopping the clock at 1:06.98.
With the collegiate post-season looming, Daley’s ability to compete at the sharp end across various strokes marks him as a key asset for Toronto as they chase further silverware.
