Premier and Finance Minsiter David Burt says Bermuda is poised to develop its position as a global testing ground for digital and financial innovation based on its reputation as the world’s leading risk jurisdiction.

He stresses that continued conversations at global forums is essential to introduce the island’s capabilities to emerging markets in the Middle East, Africa and beyond.

Premier Burt was speaking with Jasmine Patterson on Wednesday from Dubai where he is attending the World Governance Summi taking part in multi-lateral talks on leveraging A.I. economic cooperation and investment.

He highlighted that, for Bermuda, diversification is a strategic priority.

Premier Burt engaged in a fireside chat focused on how countries navigate strategic partnerships amid shifting geo-political, economic, and technological dynamics.
Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney’s Davos Speech mentioned a severing of the international order and made a call for countries to take a new approach.
We asked if this message resonates with Bermuda.

Premier Burt revealed that as a result of his discussions on A.I. he has been invited to continue talks at the spring meetings of the I.M.F. and World Bank in Washington, D.C., a first for Bermuda.
