Bermudian karting sensation Scott Barnes has labeled his 2025 campaign one of the most successful of his career after securing a fourth consecutive championship and achieving a long-held professional dream.
The Maranello Karts USA driver enjoyed a dominant international season, competing in nine race weekends and amassing an impressive eight final wins and seven podium finishes.
The definitive highlight of Barnes’ year came at North America’s largest street race: the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix in Illinois. Despite a career spanning over two decades and 14 titles at “The Rock,” the prestigious “King of the Streets” crown had eluded him since his debut in 2001.
Barnes finally clinched the elusive title this September, becoming only the second non-US driver in history to do so. “Ticking that off the bucket list was pretty big,” Barnes admitted. “I’d have taken that at the start of the year!”. He capped off the weekend with a “triple crown,” also taking victories in the Ignite 100 Masters and Open Shifter divisions.
The season ignite early in February at the SKUSA Winter Tour in Orlando. Despite the personal loss of his dog just days before the opener, Barnes delivered a clinical performance, winning three of the first four rounds to secure his fourth consecutive Shifter Masters championship.
While he fell just short of defending his overall SKUSA Pro Tour title—finishing third in the championship after a podium-heavy campaign—Barnes remained a constant threat at the front of the pack throughout the summer. He is set to begin his 2026 quest at the Rok Cup Florida Winter Tour next month.
