Premier and Finance Minister David Burt argued that the government has made up to $45m in tax cuts under their administration

MPs today passed a raft of duty breaks on imported goods and materials, including new rates for retail utility useage.
The “Customs Tariff Amendment Act 2025” will see travelers’ duty allowance increase to $300, duty reductions for imported construction materials, and zero duty on car vehicle parts.
The Opposition One Bermuda Alliance, while supportive, said the bill did not go far enough.
Premier David Burt argued that fuel tax cuts across the board have saved the average household $300 per year.
