K’Shaela Burch-Waldron marked her 50th appearance for Sutton United Women in style, finding the net during a dramatic 3-2 win against Eastbourne Borough. The Bermudian met Emma Spear’s corner in the 42nd minute to convert on her half-century milestone and help steer United to victory.
Elsewhere in English non-league football, Jasmine Spence featured as Newport Pagnell Town Women earned a 1-1 draw against Loughborough Foxes in their historic first outing at Tier 5 level.
There were defeats, however, for Eva Frazzoni and Aaliyah Nolan. Frazzoni’s AFC Sudbury fell 2-0 to Bowers & Pitsea Ladies in their Eastern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division clash at the Elite Travel Stadium, while Nolan and Barnsley Women bowed out of the FA Women’s National League Cup following a 2-0 home reverse against Stockport County at the Ground Up Solutions Stadium.
Across the Atlantic, Khano Smith’s Rhode Island FC showed resilience to fight back for a 1-1 draw against Louisville City FC at Centreville Bank Stadium. After falling behind to an early penalty, Smith’s side responded with 15 attempts on the Louisville goal, finally finding a breakthrough when Stas Korzenowski bundled home an equaliser on his home debut to share the spoils.
