Olympic champion joins global president at updated Clearwater Beach races
Bermuda is primed to defend its regional crown on home soil after the Bermuda Triathlon Association (BTA) confirmed updated dates for the 2026 CARIFTA Triathlon, Aquathlon, and Mixed Team Relay Championships
Racing at Clearwater Beach has been adjusted to run across Friday, 23 October and Saturday, 24 October.
Around 180 emerging junior athletes representing 11 Caribbean nations have arrived in the East End for the marquee multi-sport event. The two-day schedule features fast-paced individual triathlon and aquathlon competitions, before culminating in Saturday’s high-octane mixed team relay.
The championships also boast prestigious global backing. Bermuda’s Olympic gold medallist Dame Flora Duffy will attend to support the region’s rising talent, alongside World Triathlon President Antonio Arimany—whose visit underscores Bermuda’s standing as a leading hub for the sport in the Americas and Caribbean.
With race times locked in, the defending champions will look to capitalise on home advantage when competition gets under way on Friday morning.
