Thompson scores first-half brace before Dandy Town down Paget 4-1

Dandy Town Hornets and X-Roads Warriors will contest the Dudley Eve Trophy final after securing emphatic semi-final victories in a pulsating double-header at the Devonshire Recreation Club.
Town swept aside Paget Lions 4-1 in the opener before an inspired first-half brace from Donavan Thompson propelled X-Roads to an eye-catching 3-1 upset over powerhouse PHC Zebras.
Dandy Town took charge after a 32nd-minute own goal broke the deadlock to hand the Hornets a narrow interval lead.
Misfortune struck Paget again just four minutes after the restart when another own goal doubled Town’s cushion. Shakir Smith briefly halved the deficit in the 52nd minute, but Zachary Hannay restored Town’s two-goal advantage barely 60 seconds later.
Tomiko Goater sealed the rout from the penalty spot just past the hour mark, calmly converting to send the Hornets into the final.
In the nightcap, X-Roads executed a counter-attacking masterclass to stun the Zebras.
Thompson was the hero, opening the scoring on 22 minutes before doubling the Warriors’ advantage seven minutes later with a composed strike.
Kneiko Richardson made it 3-0 early in the second half, and while Nasje Brockington pulled one back for PHC, X-Roads stood firm to see out a famous victory and set up an enticing clash for the trophy.
