BermudAir gears up for rapid expansion with additional planes

CEO Adam Scott says two Embraer190 airplanes will be en route for Bermuda by next month

BermudAir has expanded its destination options for travelers to Hartford Connecticut, Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina.

The flights start next month.

BarmudAir will also service Montreal, Canada early June.

CEO Adam Scott says the boutique airline has secured major transportation connections to New York City and other routes making it easier for business, medical, educational or leisure travel.

Mr. Scott said, “Early on we had some growing pains, of course, which is to be expected.

“But I think the biggest challenge is operating the airline with only two aircrafts. That issue is now solved.

“Our third aircraft came out of the paint shop last week; our fourth aircraft is following shortly behind that.”

BermudAir came on the scene September 2023 using leased Embraer 175 aircrafts carrying 70 seats.

But now, Mr Scott says they will better manage demand by introducing two Embraer 190s, a slightly longer model holding 96 seats, 8 in business and 88 in economy.

BermudAir’s third aircraft should touch down before the end of April, though an exact date is unknown.

Looking into the remainder of 2025 and beyond, Mr. Scott has not ruled out expanding into the Caribbean market.

BermudAir said it has managed to attract visitors who otherwise would not have the option to fly direct to the island during the shoulder season.

Mr. Scott said, “All the challenges that we’ve had, I put them down as learning experiences for the team.”

In addition to the newest destinations, BermudAir currently offers flights to Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, West Chester New York, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Baltimore and Richmond.
