The Government of Bermuda issued the following media release:

On Saturday, April 5, Explora I, captained by Diego Micelozzi, marked its inaugural visit to Bermuda with a warm welcome and a traditional plaque exchange ceremony. The Hon. Tinee Furbert JP, MP, Acting Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport, was joined by Stacey Evans from the Ministry Headquarters, Harbourmaster David Simmons, and Host Port representative Tabia Butterfield from Bermuda Land Management Corporation for the occasion.

Minister Furbert extended greetings to Captain Micelozzi, his crew, and passengers, highlighting Bermuda’s hospitality and charm. Explora I had arrived from Miami and was en route to Europe, with Horta, Azores as the next port of call. Despite inclement weather during its overnight stay, numerous passengers embraced the opportunity to explore Bermuda on guided tours and strolls through the historic Royal Naval Dockyard.

Launched in August 2023, Explora I represents the forefront of luxury ocean cruising, offering unparalleled service and intimate dining experiences. The ship’s sister vessel, Explora II, soon followed, further enhancing MSC’s reputation as a leader in high-end travel.

Although classified as a small vessel with 705 passengers onboard, Explora I’s size exceeded the capacity of Bermuda’s Hamilton berth, underscoring its grandeur as a luxury liner.
