Public urged to complete cost of living survey before month end

Government aims to use public input to inform upcoming Cost of Living Summit and develop solutions to ease financial pressure on residents and businesses

The Ministry of Home Affairs is urging the public to complete its Cost of Living Survey before the April 30th deadline.

The short survey – just under 10 minutes – asks residents about key expenses like housing, food, and utilities, to better understand how rising costs are affecting everyday life in Bermuda.

Minister Alexa Lightbourne says the results will help shape discussions at the upcoming Cost of Living Summit, as the Ministry works with stakeholders to find real solutions.

There’s also a separate survey for the business community.

Today, a Ministry of Home Affairs, spokesperson said, “As the Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Alexa Lightbourne shared in Parliament last month, the Ministry will host a Cost of Limit Summit, in which the data gathered from both the Public and Business Surveys will be used to inform the discussion around lowering the cost of living in Bermuda. Reducing the cost of living in Bermuda will take a collaborative effort and community commitment, so the Ministry is encouraging all residents in Bermuda to visit the link provided and have their say.”
