Nahki Wells and Bristol City suffered a significant setback in their Championship Play-Off Semi-Final first leg, falling to a 3-0 defeat against Sheffield United at Ashton Gate.
The game turned just before half-time when Rob Dickie was sent off for a foul in the box, and Harrison Burrows converted the resulting penalty to give the Blades the lead. Despite a determined second-half effort, City couldn’t contain Sheffield United, who added two further goals through substitutes Andre Brooks and Callum O’Hare.
Liam Manning’s side now face a daunting task as they travel to Bramall Lane for the second leg on Monday, needing to overturn a three-goal deficit to keep their hopes of Premier League promotion alive.
