A 17-year old appeared in Plea Court today, charged with the murder of Ethan Arruda.

Magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered that the accused not be named in the media.

However, the accused did not have to enter a plea today as the case must be heard in Supreme Court – by which time the male defendent may have turned 18.

Bermuda Broadcasting understands that the matter of naming the accused may be revisited at that time.

Ethan Arruda, 17, was fatally stabbed at a party in Devonshire last October.

Police reported in March that two people had been arrested in connection with the murder.

Today’s case was adjourned until the July arraignments. The Royal Gazette reports that Magistrate Sofianos released the 17-year-old accused on $25,000 bail, an electronic monitoring device and a daily curfew.
