Bowlers compete in the Dominican Republic
The prestigious Central American and Caribbean Bowling Confederation Championships are now underway in the Dominican Republic, and Bermuda’s six-member squad has completed their individual competitions on Day One.
Damien Matthews led the way for the Bermudian contingent, finishing in a respectable 26th place overall, knocking down a total of 1293 pins. Matthews had a strong start, with his best game of 269 coming in the first round.
David Maycock finished 48th overall with 1197 pins, with his best game a 233 in the opener. Dayvon Tucker ended the day in 56th with 1130 pins, while Michael Honore finished 58th with 1051 pins. Jamel Bean finished 60th with a total of 1010, and Blake Raynor rounded out Bermuda’s individual performances in 62nd place with 974 pins.
While the individual competitions have now concluded, the Bermuda bowlers will be looking to take lessons from Day One into the upcoming team events at the Central American and Caribbean Bowling Confederation Championships.
