Fuel leak at hospital visitor car park

Paget Health Services investigates generator fuel spill; hospital services remain unaffected

Bermuda Hospitals Board media release:

Paget Health Service (PHS) has experienced a fuel leakage from the auxiliary fuel tank of a new generator on the KEMH Acute Care Wing visitor car park. The public are asked to follow directions if they have to come to the hospital while the clean up is completed.

The generator is the responsibility of PHS through the public private partnership with Bermuda Hospitals Board. An investigation will be completed by PHS as to what caused the leak and any repair works needed will be covered as part of the contract.

The new generator was constructed this year. As it has yet to start operating, the ACW is still supported by its existing two generators so there is no potential impact to service delivery.
