Bermudian equestrian Nicholas Lopes showcased his considerable talent at the prestigious Lake Placid Horse Show this past weekend, securing two impressive top-ten finishes in a highly competitive international field.
Competing in the 1.40-1.45m Jr/Am Jumper II Sec 2(A) Class, Lopes expertly navigated the challenging course with both of his mounts. Riding Aquiles Del Caribe Z, he produced a strong clear round, finishing in an excellent fourth place with a time of 74.548 seconds.
Not stopping there, Lopes also piloted G-Star to a commendable seventh-place finish in the very same class, which featured 17 skilled competitors. These Jr/Am Jumper classes, designed for junior and amateur riders over fences of up to 1.45 metres, are a true test of skill.
Lopes’s consistent and strong showing at such a high-calibre event underscores his growing reputation and proficiency in the demanding world of show jumping.
