Mixed fortunes for Bermudian footballers in England 

It was a weekend of mixed results for Bermudian footballers playing across the leagues in England.

In the Carabao Cup, goalkeeper Nathan Trott was given a rest by Cardiff City in their 3-0 victory over Cheltenham Town. Matthew Turner started between the sticks for City, but the victory will be a boost for the team as they advance in the competition.

In a Southern League Premier Central derby, Willie Clemons and his Leiston teammates secured a 2-1 victory over Reggie Lambe’s Needham Market FC. A late goal sealed the win for Leiston at the Bloomfields Stadium, giving them bragging rights over their rivals.

Kane Crichlow and Sutton United went down to a 1-0 defeat against Rochdale AFC at the Crown Oil Arena. Sutton will be looking to bounce back from the loss as they continue their league campaign.

In a different part of the country, Coolridge Fubler, Aunde Todd, and Brighton Morrison all featured for Binfield FC as they secured a 2-1 victory over Hartley Wintney at Hill Farm Lane. The win will be a welcome result for the trio and their teammates.

Elsewhere, Justin Donawa and his Brackley Town FC teammates drew 1-1 against Tamworth Football Club at The Lamb Ground.

In the National League North, Keziah Martin and Deniche Hill’s Buxton side went down 3-2 to Curzon Ashton at the Armac Silverlands Grounds. It was a close contest, but the visitors edged it in the end.

In other action, Milan Butterfield was an unused substitute as his Halesowen Town teammates lost 3-0 to Worcester City FC. Harry Twite and his Loughborough Student FC teammates edged Mickleover FC 1-0 at the Loughborough University Stadium. And Jutorre Burgess was an unused substitute as his Harborough Town teammates defeated Kettering Town FC 1-0.

Finally, J’Nai Butterfield-Steede and his Wythenshawe Town teammates went down to a 2-1 defeat to Trafford FC at the Shawe View Stadium.
