Eyewitnesses said the man was leaning on the pole of the structure that may have been struck this afternoon
A man appears to have had a lucky escape today after nearly being struck by lightning.
It happened at Clearwater Beach this afternoon.
Eyewitnesses told Jasmine Patterson the man apparently did not suffer serious injury. Two females were also slightly hurt.
We have sought comment from the Department of Parks’ Lifeguard Services, as lifeguards were on duty at the time of the incident.
We should also note, as the stormy weather continues, that the chances of being struck by lightning are about one in a million.
