Thompson thriving with new number and Bournemouth victory

Bermuda’s Kenni Thompson has made an emphatic start to the new football season with her AFC Bournemouth teammates, providing the winning assist in last Sunday’s victory against Hashtag United. The forward is also embracing a change of shirt number and settling in with a new manager.

Speaking to afcb.co.uk, Thompson highlighted the team’s hard work in training and their efforts to adapt to a new manager. “Everyone has put in a lot of work, they’ve all put in a shift to put out the best performance we can, and we’ve done that,” she said.

This season sees Thompson donning the number seven shirt, a change from her previous number 25. “I needed a little bit of a change I think but it’s a number I’ve worn in the past at a really great club,” Thompson explained, adding that the number holds significant meaning for her.

Looking ahead to their next fixture against Exeter City on Sunday, Thompson outlined the team’s focus: “We work hard, we recover well, we do everything we can to get ourselves to a good place and put out the best performance we can.”
