Huge disruption to rush hour traffic this morning after a downed utility pole forced the closure of a section of Harbour Road.
A collision last night, near the junction with Lover’s Lane, Paget, had damaged the pole.
Eastbound traffic has been rerouted via Chapel Lane, while westbound traffic has been diverted via Lovers Lane.
Tailbacks on the South Shore reached as far as Warwick Long Bay – and many commuters would have been late for work this morning.
Government stated that emergency response teams were on-site carrying out urgent repairs.
We’ll update as soon as we know more.
Adding to the problem was a reported fender bender by Christ Church in Warwick.
