Clash of two storms could create weather phenomenon

Sting jet could accompany passage of Hurricane Imelda

As conditions continued to deteriorate ahead of Hurricanes Humberto and Imelda, Qian Dickinson visited Warwick Long Bay. He also speak to former Bermuda Weather Service Director Michelle Pitcher about the storms’ expected impacts, including the potential for a sting jet interaction.

Update 7pm, Tuesday, September 30:
The latest forecast from the Bermuda Weather Service has Hurricane Humberto coming closest to Bermuda at 10am tomorrow, when it will be 222 nautical miles to our north-north-west.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Imelda – a much greater threat to Bermuda – is expected to pass within 25 nautical miles of Bermuda – or even make a direct hit – at midnight tomorrow. At that point Imelda is expected to be a Category 2 hurricane.
