Saltus Grammar School staged a thrilling comeback to capture the Primary School Six-a-Side Tournament title, defeating Elliot Primary 3–1 in an exciting final after a day of intense competition.
Elliot Primary started strongly when Taka Benza grabbed the early lead. However, Saltus, known as the Knights, responded with a dominant second-half display to net three unanswered goals and lift the trophy. The comeback was sparked by Declan O’Sullivan’s equaliser, followed swiftly by Freddie Webster putting Saltus ahead. The victory was then sealed by a brilliant long-range strike from Isaac Metschnabel.
Saltus’s journey included a commanding 4–1 semifinal win over Somersfield Academy, highlighted by a phenomenal six-goal performance from O’Sullivan in the earlier 6–0 quarterfinal rout of Bermuda Institute. Elliot Primary’s path to the final was dramatic, as they came from behind to edge Dalton E. Tucker 2–1 in their own semifinal, having previously eliminated defending champions Warwick Academy 1–0. The day confirmed the high level of talent in the island’s primary school football scene.
