Government unveils eco-friendly herbicide equipment
As government rolls out its islandwide road repaving programme, attention is also turning to another challenge on Bermuda’s roadways: uncontrolled vegetation.
From overgrown hedges narrowing lanes to invasive plants encroaching on sidewalks and drainage systems, roadside overgrowth has become a growing concern for motorists, pedestrians and maintenance crews alike.
In an effort to tackle the issue more efficiently – and more sustainably – the Government is investing in a new herbicide machine that promises to be both environmentally friendly and more effective than traditional methods.
Qian Dickinson sat down with Minister of Public Works and Environment, Jache Adams, to discuss how the new technology fits into the wider infrastructure plan.
