Full time: Bermuda fall 4-1 to Guatemala after early setback

The Bermuda Women’s National Team suffered a 4-1 defeat against Guatemala in their second CONCACAF W Qualifiers match, a difficult result compounded by an early goalkeeper injury and Guatemala’s strong control of the match statistics.

Guatemala took control early, scoring in the 5th and 15th minutes to secure a 2-0 lead at the half. The challenge for Bermuda was amplified in the 26th minute when goalkeeper Taya Rodrigues was substituted due to injury, with Sharifa Crockwell entering the game.

Guatemala extended their lead in the second half, eventually going up 4-0 before Eva Frazzoni pulled a goal back for Bermuda in the 78th minute, heading in a cross from Kenni Thompson.

Guatemala dominated possession with 59.2% and registered 24 shots (12 on target), while Bermuda had just two shots. The 4-1 defeat is a setback for Bermuda following their opening 4-0 win against the Cayman Islands.
