Mixed cup results in U.K. football round-up

The latest round of cup competitions across the UK saw a mix of results for Bermuda’s overseas footballers, highlighted by a crushing loss for Cardiff City’s youth side and key advancements for Halesowen Town and Binfield FC.

Goalkeeper Nathan Trott was not part of the Cardiff City team that suffered a chastening 5-1 defeat to AFC Wimbledon in the Vertu Trophy last-32 at Cardiff City Stadium. The side fielded a team featuring young players for the competition.

Meanwhile, fellow Championship player Nahki Wells remained sidelined through injury as his Luton Town teammates secured passage in the same competition, defeating Exeter 4-0.

Midfielder Milan Butterfield and his Halesowen Town teammates advanced in the Birmingham Senior Cup, securing a comfortable 3-1 victory over AFC Wolverhampton City.

In the Velocity Cup, Colridge Fubler and Remi Coddington started for Binfield FC, who advanced with a 3-1 win over Ascot United FC at The Racecourse Ground. Aunde Todd started the match on the bench.

Sutton United, without Kane Crichlow, edged Croydon Athletic 2-1 in County Cup action at the VBS Community Stadium.

Keziah Martin and his Buxton United FC teammates suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Derby County B in the Derbyshire FA Senior Cup.

Ajani Burchall was an unused substitute for Wimborne Town, who shared the spoils in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Gloucester City. The match featured two goals for the visitors in the last 15 minutes and a late red card for the hosts.
