
A massive day of school football is set for the National Sports Centre North Field on Saturday, December 13th, as eight teams will be crowned KO Cup Champions across all divisions. The day is expected to be dominated by a rivalry battle, with Saltus Grammar School featuring in seven of the eight finals, and The Berkeley Institute appearing in all three Senior School championships.
The final showdowns begin at 11:00 am with the Primary School Girls Final between Saltus Grammar and Warwick Academy. Both teams needed penalty shootouts to reach the final after tense semi-finals.
Also at 11:00 am, the Under 13 Boys Final pits the Whitney Institute Bulls against Somersfield Academy. Whitney survived a late Saltus comeback to win their semi-final 4-2 on penalties.
The rivalry between Warwick and Saltus continues in the Middle School Girls Final at 12:45 pm. Later, Saltus, who routed Mount Saint Agnes 13-0, will face Sandys Secondary Middle School in the Middle School Over 13 Final.
The afternoon culminates in the Senior School finals, all featuring The Berkeley Institute against Saltus.
The Under 16 Final sees undefeated Berkeley take on Saltus, who advanced with a 3-2 win over Warwick.
The Senior School Girls Final at 4:15 pm features League Champions Berkeley, who had a 9-0 semi-final win, against runners-up Saltus.
The day’s climax, the Senior School Over 16 Final, kicks off at 6:00 pm, with Berkeley facing Saltus once more. Saltus edged their semi-final 2-0 with goals from Isai Gibbons and Rajee Knight-Rowling.
The day promises an exciting showcase of Bermuda’s young football talent.
