The Hamilton Princess was a scene of celebration on Saturday night as Bermuda’s sporting elite gathered for the 44th Annual Government Sports Awards, honoring the standout performers of 2025.
Track star Caitlyn Bobb and sailor Sebastian Kempe took home the night’s most prestigious prizes, named Female and Male Athlete of the Year respectively. Bobb’s dominance on the international circuit and Kempe’s ascent through the global sailing ranks solidified their status as the island’s premier ambassadors.
The next generation also shared the spotlight, with Robin Selley (Junior Female) and Elijah Daley (Junior Male) recognized for their breakthrough seasons. Achievement awards were presented to world-stage regulars including Erica Hawley, Jessica Lewis, and Nicholas Narraway, while the Bermuda Davis Cup and National Netball squads claimed the team honors.
Beyond the trophies, the evening paid tribute to the island’s sporting backbone. Special recognition was given to stalwarts like Katura Horton and DeVon Bean, emphasizing that Bermuda’s success is built on a foundation of community dedication. As the curtains fell, the message was clear: after a stellar 2025, the pulse of Bermudian sport has never beaten more strongly.
