A Bermudian-built digital platform is continuing to grow, offering payment solutions for local businesses. Shakeem Albouy, founder of Woi, has introduced a new feature that allows vendors to accept payments through a barcode system, making transactions more seamless for both businesses and customers. Launched in 2020, the platform has grown into a directory featuring more than 100 local businesses, helping to connect the community and support entrepreneurship across the island. Woi has also been nominated for the 9th Annual Bermuda Economic Development Corporation Business Awards. In an interview with Kendal Trott, Mr. Albouy talked about the journey, the latest developments, and advice for aspiring entrepreneurs.
