The 2026 Carifta Aquatics Championships have concluded in Martinique, with Jorgia White leading the final Bermudian charge in a grueling open water finale.
Battling the swells along the Anses d’Arlet coastal area, White showed immense grit in the 5km event. Navigating a highly competitive regional field, she touched the line in 1:16:55.91 to claim 13th place overall, bringing the curtain down on a productive week for the Bermuda Team.
Bermuda left the championships having firmly established themselves as a regional force, finishing 7th overall in the combined team standings. With 205 points, the island’s swimmers outperformed several much larger Caribbean nations—a testament to the growing depth of the national program.
The team returns home with a respectable haul of five medals:
