Road closures and races to affect traffic

Chapel Road will close for repairs in Paget on 16 and 17 April and the Cambridge Classic five-kilometre and 10-kilometre races will affect roads in Sandys on 19 April

Media Release:

The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advises the public of two upcoming road traffic notices affecting Paget and Sandys this week.

The first notice concerns a temporary road closure on Chapel Road in Paget to facilitate road repair works. The second relates to the Cambridge Classic 5K and 10K races, which will take place in Sandys on Sunday.

Chapel Road, from Middle Road to Latte’s Café, will be closed on Thursday, 16 April and Friday, 17 April 2026, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day.

The closure is required to accommodate road repair works, with traffic control under the direction of representatives from Joell’s Asphalt Services & Maintenance Ltd. Local access for residences and businesses, including Latte’s Café, will be available via Harbour Road.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes via Middle Road, Manse Road and Cobbs Hill Road.

The Cambridge Classic 5K and 10K races will take place on Sunday, 19 April 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Cambridge Beaches Resort and western Sandys area.

Motorists should expect temporary traffic controls during the event and are urged to use caution when travelling in the area.

Please refer to the attached Road Traffic Notices for full details on the race route and traffic arrangements.
