West and Mosquera cruise to stroke play glory

Eric West and Sienna Mosquera anchored a day of supreme clinical precision at Southampton as the Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play Championship drew to a dramatic close at the world-renowned Port Royal Golf Course.

On a final day where a relentless Atlantic coastal breeze tested every ounce of strategic discipline, five new division champions emerged victorious across the iconic public layout.

In the Men’s Open Championship Division, Eric West produced a masterclass in risk management, carding a final-round, even-par 71 to finish the tournament at an unshakeable even-par overall. West’s final loop mixed three brilliant birdies with 12 steady pars to hold off Alec Barker (+7) and defending champion Jarryd Dillas (+8).

The Ladies Open Championship Division belonged entirely to Sienna Mosquera, who clinched the title at nine-over-par overall. Despite a bumpy final-round 83 on the demanding track, Mosquera’s magnificent second-round performance provided a cushion wide enough to comfortably survive the damage and finish clear of Tracy Burgess (+25).

Experience dictated terms in the Senior Open as Robert Vallis carded a brilliant two-under-par 69 to finish as the lone player under par at one-under overall. Meanwhile, Tracy Burgess pulled double duty to sweep the Senior Ladies crown at 25-over-par.

The tightest competitive drama unfolded in the Men’s First Flight Division, where Jonathan James held his nerve with a steady final-round 73 to claim a grandstand, one-stroke victory over Richard Marriott.
