New York Rugby 7s Tournament will test the mettle of young squad

Bermuda Rugby’s Women’s National Contact 7s team, known as the Dark & Stormies, is set to compete in the New York Rugby 7s Tournament this weekend.
The one-day competition, held in the heart of New York City, will feature 16 teams battling for supremacy in their division.
A press release states that for Bermuda’s team, the tournament represents a key milestone in their development: “With a youthful squad and many new faces stepping up to replace a generation of experienced players, the team is focused on growth, cohesion, and performance under pressure. The Dark & Stormies see this as a critical step in their journey to peak readiness for the Rugby Americas North 7s Competition in November 2025.”
Coach Alvin Harvey said: “We are proud of the hard work and dedication the players have shown, and this weekend will help lay the groundwork for future success.”
Here’s the Bermuda squad line-up: Bella Greene, Somaia Saltus, Jordan Mallory, Lysmeiri Santana Suazo (Captain), Camile Chin-Gurret, Kisha Pitcher, Apryl Jackson, Heidi Groves, Sarah Cross, Alexia Hurdle, Joliza Vanderpool and Sammy Dill.
