Following dominant wins over the Varsity Blues Alumni (4-1) and Western University (5-0), Toronto delivered another measured performance at Back Campus Fields to register their third consecutive pre-season triumph.
Cardwell played a central role in anchoring a resolute defensive setup that recorded back-to-back clean sheets, frustrating Waterloo’s attacking sorties while Toronto’s forward line struck either side of the interval to seal the win.
The victory caps a commanding warm-up schedule for head coach Cassius Mendonça’s side, who carry unblemished form into their Ontario University Athletics (OUA) regular-season opener against McMaster University on September 11th.
